The Clayton Smoking Ban and Ritz-Carlton
If Clayton aldermen can tolerate indoor smoking by the 1000 members of the Ritz-Carlton Cigar Club, they can also tolerate smoking in the bars of Clayton establishments. The aldermen could solve all employee health concerns by insisting on 12 air changes per hour of the air purification even Surgeon General Carmona admitted in his report might prove an acceptable compromise.
No one disputes that HEPA filtration takes out flu viruses. The type of air purification used to
clear tobacco smoke at Herbie’s is used in hospital operating rooms to make the air safer.

Diana Benati
I saw Smoke Free St. Louis City leader Diana Benati at the Clayton smoking ban hearing last night. Diana claims to have been a 3 pack a day smoker. If that is true, her old habit certainly hasn't hurt her looks. Diana is drop dead gorgeous. If Diana once smoked 60 cigarettes a day and still is doing so fine, how can the 1 or 2 cigarettes a week of secondhand smoke exposure hurt anyone?
